recently returned to Viet Nam from the USA and brought US dollars with
me which I received from my bank in the USA. They were all genuine
dollars, each with the same value regardless of the date they were
printed.

I have a European Category A (unrestricted motorbike) licence. To drive a large motorbike in Viet Nam, I have in the past held a Vietnamese driving licence and been a fully participating member of the District 10 Motorbike Club. It was never possible for a foreigner to own a large motorbike. However, today I see large motorbikes with NN number plates, suggesting that foreigners may own large motorbikes.

In your article "Flooding in the Mekong Delta" on October 22, 2011, paragraph 10 mentions that Dong Thap Province planted a third crop of paddy of 98,858 ha. However, GSO data shows Dong Thap ended winter paddy production in mid 1990s.

There are many foreigners in Viet Nam, but to my knowledge none seem to have a Vietnamese motorbike or car licence.

Dear Madam,
In regards to Viet kieu (Overseas Vietnamese) owning houses here, could you please tell me what is needed to obtain a land-use certificate and housing title? My understanding of the Decree covering the issue is that you must have a Viet Nam exemption certificate in your passport and a valid stamp from Immigration Office for three months or more, which we have.

As a frequent visitor to Viet Nam, I have learned to like this beautiful country and even more so the friendly and good-natured people. I have been coming here since 2002 and spent nearly all of my holiday time visiting different areas of the country.

I was on a recent flight on Vietnam Airlines on September 04, 2011 (Flight No. VN1166) and noticed this unusual seating arrangement aboard the aircraft where part of the emergency exit was blocked by rows of seats on both sides.

Foreign passengers on connection flights or transit at international seaports will be allowed to stay in Viet Nam for up to 15 days instead of the current five from August 14, according to new Ministry of Public Security regulations.
