Convict transfer pact signed

HA NOI — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of South Korea in Viet Nam yesterday held a ceremony to exchange documents on their convict transfer agreement.

At the ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son and South Korean Ambassador to Viet Nam Park Suk Hwan signed the minutes of the ratification of the agreement, which was inked in Seoul in May last year.

The agreement became effective yesterday. It will help strengthen co-operation between the two countries' judicial bodies and also mark an important step in the two sides' co-operation in crime prevention and fighting.
