Fire destroys 22 homes in Soc Trang

SOC TRANG — My Quoi Market in southern Soc Trang Province's Nga Nam District caught fire yesterday, destroying 22 homes and damaging 40 others.

Total damage is estimated at up to VND3 billion (US$143.000).

According to Nguyen Dong Pha, chairman of My Quoi Commune's People's Committee, many market goods were combustible, including plastic, clothes and cooking-oil. — VNS
