Stone-filled barge sinks in Bac Lieu River
HA NOI — A barge carrying 400 tonnes of rock yesterday sank in the main stream of the Bac Lieu River. No casualties were reported. The barge reportedly sank after striking stakes in the river after having travelled hundreds of kilometres from Can Tho. The stakes were left from the construction of the Bac Lieu 2 Bridge spanning the river. Workers are now salvaging the barge cargo and trying to lift the barge. — VNS
