Road deaths shock Can Tho
CAN THO — Two traffic accidents in O Mon District in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho killed six people including a child and injured two others three days ago. At 2:30pm on National Highway 91 that links Can Tho with Long Xuyen City to the west, Nguyen Chi Duoc, 25, who was riding a motorbike carrying his two-year-old son, lost control of the bike and crashed into a truck driving in the opposite direction. Both Duoc and his son died on the spot.
At midnight on the same day, three people on a motorbike on the same road crashed into another motorbike also carrying three people.
One died on the spot, while three other died on the way to the hospital. The remaining two suffered head injuries and have been in critical condition.
The investigators of O Mon District's Police Department are yet to determine the cause of the accidents. — VNS
