Yen Bai closes down polluting paper mill

YEN BAI — Northern Yen Bai Province's People's Committee has decided to suspend operations at the local Yen Binh Paper Factory as of April 1 for causing environmental damage.

The company was supposed to have built a waste water treatment system in line with environment standards but had failed to do so.

The company is on a list of 10 local enterprises that the Committee suspects of serious environmental damage. — VNS
