Market correcting on heavy profit-taking
HA NOI - Heavy profit-taking sent the VN-Index down 0.63 per cent during the middle of this morning's session to 463.07 points.
The HCM City market saw 34.5 million shares change hands at a value of VND850.5 billion (US$43.6 million).
Several blue chips stocks dropped including STB, down 0.3 per cent, SSI, down 0.1 per cent, FPT, down 0.5 per cent and VCB down, 0.6 per cent.
Capital influx focused mostly in small and mid caps including AAM, up 0.5 per cent, ASM, up 1.5 per cent, DIC and DXV, up 1.2 per cent.
The HNX-Index at the Ha Noi Stock Exchange fell 0.31 per cent to 136.34 when the bourse opened today.
Volume was brisk at 33.9 million shares, worth VND860.6 billion ($44.1 million), with number of advancers and decliners equalling about 118 - 136.
Analysts at Dai Viet Securities said that capital flows could be burdened by profit-taking activities today. The profit taking could potentially put a brake on the market's progress.
Capital will be divided into different types of stocks, which would result in high profits in the near future, said Dai Viet Securities. – VNS
