Cassava ethanol goes on sale
QUANG NAM — Dong Xanh Joint Stock Co yesterday introduced ethanol fuel produced from cassava – the first of its kind in Viet Nam – to the domestic market.
This fuel has satisfied technical standards for biological fuel and will be used to replace other traditional petrol at a cheaper price, as well as being exported abroad in the future. Ethanol fuel is produced by the Ethanol Dai Tan factory in the southern central coastal province of Quang Nam with an annual capacity of 125 million litres.
The factory will sell 50 per cent of its volume on the domestic market, with the remainder for export.
HCM City hosts Thai trade expo
HCM CITY — The Thailand Trade Exhibition 2010 is being held at the Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Centre in HCM City through August 8.

Work starts on Lao Hung hotel
HA NOI — The Sai Gon Invest Group (SGI) has started work on the construction of the SGI Lao Hung Hotel, the first of its kind rated three stars in Huaphanh Province, eastern Laos.
SGI Lao Hung Hotel is located on an area of 5,642sq.m in Sam Neua district, next to the SGI-funded " Sam Neua Pearl Tower," according to the company's website.
The hotel is being built at a cost of US$3 million and expected to be the largest hotel in the province when it is operational. The 1,300 sq.m project consists of bedrooms, restaurants, commercial and office spaces and a meeting hall. It is expected to be complete in 2013. — VNS
