HCM City hosts international home furnishings exposition

HCM CITY — The international exhibition of furniture and home accessories VIFA 2010 opened yesterday at the Sai Gon Convention & Exhibition Centre in HCM City's District 7.

The third exhibition brings together 150 exhibitors from countries and territories, including China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and the host country Viet Nam.

Products on display at 600 booths include indoor and outdoor furniture as well as machinery and equipment for wood manufacturing and processing, and internationally-standardised quality control services.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thanh Bien said: "The event is a platform for networking and exploring business opportunities as well as developing both local and international partnerships."

Co-organised by the Handicrafts and Wood Industry Association of HCM City and Lien Minh Joint Stock Company, the exhibition will run until Sunday. — VNS
