Ha Noi sees 0.21% inflation during June

HA NOI — Ha Noi's consumer price index rose by 0.21 per cent this month over the previous month, the city's statistics office reported.

As a result, the six-month CPI increased by 9.44 per cent compared to the same period last year with an average monthly rise of 0.84 per cent.

Nine out of 11 price groups increased slightly. Those that didn't were transportation; housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials,

Commodities which increased the most were catering services, 0.51 per cent, and beverages and cigarettes, 0.72 per cent.

The increase in June's CPI was attributed to high prices of raw food and vegetables due to the bad weather and the imbalance between production and consumption as well as the impacts of world prices.

Gold prices rose by 3.66 per cent while US dollar dropped 0.08 per cent against the previous month. — VNS
